Vaccine day

Bar, Lena, and Sammy all got vaccinated for West Nile, 3-way, and flu today--lucky them. Lena appears to be the only one suffering any ill-effects, and she was definitely not feeling well. Not only did she not wolf her grain, she snuggled. Lena Rey does not snuggle--unless she feels really, really crappy.

Bar and Sammy seemed to be their normal selves, if a bit touchy in the neck area, but Lena was definitely not functioning at 100%. I'm sure she'll be fine tomorrow, but it is distinctly odd to see her so subdued.

  1. Hope Lena perks up soon. I had a mare experience an adverse reaction to her flu booster during the fall of '08. She wound up with a guttural pouch infection, which was a rather long, drawn, out affair. Medicating a horse that is tired of being medicated (when it's 20 degrees out) is not a good time.
