Will he still love me tomorrow?

It's now been 3 days since I've been to the barn, and four since Bar got any work.

I am attempting to not feel guilty. I'm failing at the moment, but I know a) this will pass (we're hiring) and b) my horse will forgive me and be glad when I do show up to play with him. After he pouts a little and I've emptied the carrot bins of all the local grocery stores to make it up to him, of course.

There's also the fact that I may have the world's bounciest Thoroughbred when I do get there, which should be fun.

We've got a three-day weekend coming up and my boss has informed me he really would like me to take the entire time off (he himself is going to be skiing) and that is my intent. If I can just catch up in the next couple of days, it should work.

And if I can even just get close, that will be enough.

My pony needs me and I need him. Balance must be restored to my universe.

Jessica! Thrilled to find your blog here. I'm sure your sweet horse will still love ya. :) Take care and good to catch up with your world here.

I'm sure the carrots will make up for any slight he feels. It's nice to have a 3 day weekend to look forward to enjoy getting back in the saddle. I'm hoping to do the same this weekend.

I'm in the same boat, Jessica, except I haven't been on Wolfie's back since mid-December due to weather/snow/ice. Am working on clicker training and other ground games/exercises as we are able, but the snow has been so deep that it's hard for us to move around much (yes, it's that deep!). Four days at an event in NYC this week -- no Wolfie time. Off to see him this morning, with the hope that the snow in the paddocks has melted at least a bit. Soon it will be mud season, which is going to be a doozy this year. Have fun with Bar this weekend.

Thanks, everyone.

I did remove that post for it's total irrelevancy to the topic at hand.

I believe in free speech, but I'm also in charge of content on this blog and, well, it wasn't appropriate to the subject. So there.

Did you get a spammer? I get them every now and again, and just delete them. My blog, my rules.

I'm sure the carrots will cause Bar to forgive any trespass. I've got a three day weekend, too, but we have non-horsey company from out of town, so I see another non-riding weekend in my future, replaced with meaningless small talk, which I'm not so good at.

I'll stop whining now.

Whining is allowed, Dave. Especially when faced with a non-horsey weekend of small talk. (Ew.)

It was some weird comment about not dating American women, so not relevant and deleted.

Gee, I'm sorry I missed that deleted post!
It's the weekend now and you better be taking time off and working with your ponies!
